Check out www.dontwasteyourlife.com. They have a podcast (downloadable in iTunes too) and a blog that are updated at least once a week. The videos are short and super-challenging.
John Piper talks about how in the bible Jesus talks more about money than he does heaven and hell. It IS difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God! But what is impossible with man is possible with God.
From age 15/16 to 19/20ish I was quite frivolous with the way that I spent money. CDs. Clothes. Junk food. Praise God that he has changed me - but I pray that he would keep changing me. To my ccecyouth readers: don't be frivolous with your money!!! Older readers who have greater access to $$$ need to hear this just as much: don't be frivolous with your money!!!
Invest in that which will last forever. 2 Cor 4:16-18
How are you tempted to waste your life? How are you frivolous with money, time & your life? What steps are you taking to invest in eternity?

frivolous with time?
i'm taking steps to spend less time reading blogs!! there are good things to read - but i need to spend less time reading. it's been good since getting back from holidays... but could improve a bit more.
piper in 'don't waste your life' talks about the couple who retire early to go and live it up on the beach and 'collect shells' and then when they stand before God will say "look Lord at my shells"
...
"look Lord at the amount of blog reading I did" top

Thanks for this reminder, we have a an older couple in our bible study who are totally geared up to serving God in Mission when they retire. They are going to get some training at Theological college and are preparing to serve God wherever he might send them - what an example... top

Great site! Super important messages! I spend too much time on the net as well, and my back pocket is yet to be converted. Reminders like this are so needed!
From there I linked into a better site that I'd never checked out before (I know you have... you (and Dan) reccommended it to me)

Piper's sermons are great! I've downloaded a sermon series from 1990 and put it on my idud, been listening in the car. Don't waste your life - even the time you spend driving!
Sweet as! top
