Mars Hill Church Music
Last week during my week off I downloaded a whole bunch of congregational songs from Mars Hill Church Seatle (where Mark Driscoll is senior pastor). I've currently got 41 tracks, and there might be about 100 in total. They are available from here and most of them are original Mars Hill songs or reworked hymns recorded live during their church services (the aduio quality is pretty impressive). The ones I've enjoyed the most are by one of their bands called Brothers of the Empty Tomb (B.E.T in their catalogue)
Questions:
What's the best song introduced in your church during the past year?
What's your all time favourite church song?
What Bible themes or passages ought songs be written about?
Breaking news: eternal weight of glory (my blog) is this month's blog of the month on thefountainside blog ... yessss!

Hey David, I'm SamR's sister who lives in Perth. My favourite recently introduced song is "In His Image" by Nicky Chiswell. Our church band does a great rocky version. top

Having to choose music for our church services and trying to link them to the sermon application, I have found a lacking of songs on evangelism and living as a Christian in this world top

I was a team member at Summerfest a number of years ago for most of the prep period but then had to pull out at the last minute because another camp I was leading on clashed with it. That's as close as I got to going on Summerfest unfortunately! I haven't actually been to CCEC. top

Have just been looking through your blog and realise that although I don't really recognise your face, I know Rowena (can't exactly remember where from though) plus I know Marty, Katrina and Liam. My husband, Matt, and I used to church at St Paul's Carlingford before we moved to Perth. Matt loved going to youth group when Rhett was leading. top
